Nyons is located at the foot of the Baronnies Provençales, a pre-Alpine massif with tortured shapes. With the Eygues on its right bank, the town opens towards Vaucluse and the Baronnies thanks to its two bridges:
The Roman bridge which celebrated its 600th anniversary in 2009
The Baronnies Provençales bridge inaugurated in 2008
To the west, two axes connect the city to the Rhône valley: the A7 motorway and the towns of Montélimar, Valence or Orange and Avignon. To the North East, going up the Eygues valley via the RD 94 which crosses the remarkable gorges of St May, you can reach the Diois, the Alpes de Haute Provence and the Hautes Alpes (Gap, winter sports resorts, etc. .).
The different components mentioned above demonstrate the regular development of the city and the regular growth of its population.
The geographical and climatic location of the city attracts more and more retirees. The mild climate but also the air quality is favorable for people suffering from breathing difficulties.
